The New York Yankees have signed their number one offseason priority.
Japanese pitcher Masahiro Tanaka has decided to sign with the Bronx Bombers.
Fox Sports Ken Rosenthal has the details on the deal which is seven years, $155 million, with an opt-out after the fourth year.
Tanaka pitched to a 24-0 record, with an earned run average of 1.27 for the champion Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles. He is only 25 years hold but has pitched many inning since turning professional in his late teens.
The contract makes him the fifth highest pitcher in baseball. He joins Ichiro Suzuki, and Hiroki Kuroda as the other famous Japanese players on the team.
Yankees also have to pay a $20 million posting fee to his former team for offering him to Major League Baseball.
