Alex Rodriguez Sues MLB To Reduce Suspension
In absolutely no surprise, Alex Rodriguez has sued Major League Baseball to reduce his suspension.
An arbitrator ruled on Saturday, that Rodriguez was to be suspended 162 games (a full baseball season), including the playoffs. This is the longest suspension in the history of Major League Baseball related to performance enhancing drugs.
Just as the work week began, Rodriguez and his lawyers filed a lawsuit with U.S. District Court saying that there was clear bias in arbitrator Fredric Horowitz’s ruling.
Wallace Matthews of ESPN New York has the story:
“He ignored the clear disciplinary action of the JDA,” the complaint reads, referring to the arbitrator. “Accordingly, the Arbitration Award is not legitimate as it does not draw its essence from the JDA or [C]BA.”
