Alicia Keys And Blackberry Part Ways
After a year of serving as the companies first-ever Global Creative Director Alicia Keys is officially stepping down from the position on January 30th. When first appointed the job many viewed the the partnership as more of a promotional tool by the brand seeing Keys as only a celebrity with no corporate America background.
However according to Blackberry while she was onboard, she had direct involvement in its operations, attended several corporate events and worked on a four-year scholarship program encouraging young women to consider science and technology fields. Keys attended numerous corporate events throughout the year, part took in some of the company’s promotional material and even took the BlackBerry device launch to the social media world with Twitter updates about the products.
Under the new leadership of John Chen, Black Berry has now decided to focus primarily on BlackBerry’s loyal enterprise business users raising 31 cents to $8.21 on the Toronto Stock Exchange this past thursday.
