Payton Manning May Lose Record Due To Review [Video]
As of right now Payton Manning holds the record for most passing yards, and most touchdowns in a season. But that could change.
In a yearly review of statistics and records, Payton Manning may lose the record he beat Sunday in the last game of the regular season against the Oakland Raiders.
Manning now holds the record for most touchdown’s in a season with 55, breaking Tom Brady’s former mark. The record in question is yards in a season which is currently set at 5,477. This is one more yard than Drew Brees record setting season of 2011.
ESPN breaks down the now controversial play in detail.
In one camera angle, the pass to Decker looks like a lateral, which would make it a running play. Another angle, from above, shows Decker receiving the ball at the Broncos’ 48-yard line, with Manning slightly deeper than that.
The NFL has not yet made a final ruling on the record.
