Shin-Soo Choo Passed On HUGE New York Yankees Offer
Shin-Soo Choo has emerged as the biggest free agent in baseball now that many of MLB’s top players have been signed.
He could have easily been a New York Yankee though as reports recently emerged that he rejected a seven year, $140 million contract to join the team shortly after Robinson Cano signed with the Seattle Mariners.
His agent is Scott Boras, the same person who represented Jacoby Ellsbury and his seven year, $153 million contract and he wanted his other client to recieve the same price. This is also the guy who is going back and forth with Jay Z as he tries to become a successful sports agent.
The Yankees moved on shortly after the rejection and instead signed Carlos Beltran to a three year, $45 million dollar contract. In that time they also signed Brian Roberts and Matt Thornton to fill their second base and left handed reliever spots.
Choo’s suitors seem to be the Texas Rangers, Cincinnati Reds (whom he played for last year), and Arizona Diamondbacks.
It is being said that he may be looking for a team willing to go eight years on the contract.
