Lakers Looking To Add Iman Shumpert

Iman Shumpert

Los Angeles Lakers is looking to pair Kobe Bryant with Iman Shumpert, and has called the New York Knicks to gauge their interest in a trade according to Chris Broussard of ESPN.

The Lakers are playing without three of their point guards as Steve Blake, Steve Nash, and Jordan Farmer out with injuries.

J.R. Smith, which was signed in the offseason is getting into the doghouse with the team. Therefore for any trade involving Shumpert the Knicks are looking to add Smith to the package to any team will.

Smith and head coach Mike Woodson got into it after a recent game where he told the shooting guard.

“Mike said that after all I’ve done for you I can’t have you talking back to me like that,” the source claimed. The same source added that Smith made a lewd comment that angered Woodson.

Meanwhile, Shumpert has been in trade rumors for the last month in a half as they try to find pieces to right the 7-16 team. The team also has had ties to Kyle Lowry of the Toronto Raptors, yet they do not want to give away one of their rare first round picks (since they traded the majority of them for the next few years).
