Kerry Washington, Idris Elba & Chiwetel Ejiofor Get Nominated For Golden Globes


The last quarter of the 2013 year has been overflowing with nothing but powerful blockbuster hits on the movie side and no stop “why are you only a hour long” this season in the TV world all just in time for the Golden Globe awards.

Earlier today the Golden Globe nominees were announced, and although The Butler didn’t make it into any of this years categories, talk about the ultimate snub. You will still be hyped to find out who did.

First for all my Gladiators! Yes our girl Kerry Washington received her very first Golden Globe nomination for best actress in a TV series, drama. following up on the TV end for Best Actor are both British actors Idris Elba, for his role in the TV series Luther, and Chiwetel Ejioforas, for Best Actor in a TV miniseries for his role in Starz’s original Dancing on the Edge.

Both British Actors are also nominees for the the Best Actor award for their lead roles in the Films Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom (Idris Elba) and 12 Years A Slave (Chiwetel Ejiofor).

The film 12 Years A slave, which is the movie portrayal of Solomon Northrup memoir of the same name, also snagged whopping seven nominations. Including one for its director, Steven McQueen and ‘Best Supporting Actress,’ nomination for Kenyan actress Lupita Nyong’o role as Patsey.
