Paul Pierce Out 2-4 Weeks With Broken Right Hand

Brooklyn Nets forward Paul Pierce will miss two to four weeks with a broken right hand according to an official statement from the team early today.

The injury occurred during Friday night’s blowout to the Houston Rockets. He finished that game with two points and four assists.

This season he is averaging 12.4 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 2.8 assists for a disappointing 5-12 Brooklyn Nets.

Alan Anderson, who took his place Saturday in the win against the Memphis Grizzlies, will take over for Paul Pierce in the starting lineup.

Nets have been hit hard by injuries this season, with starters Deron Williams, Brook Lopez, Kevin Garnett, and Andrei Kirilenko all missing time for various reasons.

Brooklyn play the Denver Nuggets next at the Barclays Center tomorrow night.
