Derek Jeter Looks At Life After Baseball

Derek Jeter is looking at life after baseball after the injury filled 2013 season.

Following the release of his book, The Captain: The Journey of Derek Jeter, Jeter is now a book publisher by announcing the launch of his venture with Simon & Schuster.

Jeter spoke about Jeter Publishing at Joe Torre’s Safe at Home Foundation dinner over the weekend.

“I run the show — the CEO. I call the shots. Long process,” There was interest — everyone always asks me, ‘Well, when are you going to write another book?’ I’m not really interested in doing that. But I am interested in people’s stories.”

“This is my publishing imprint. It has my name on it. I’m going to try and make everyone proud.”

Jeter will be releasing different type of books through the imprint, including adult non-fiction books and children’s books as well.
Jeter recently signed a one year, $12 million contract with the New York Yankees. The first children books should be releasing in 2014.
