Brian Wilson Chooses Hair Over New York Yankees
Brian Wilson is a superstar closer who played for the Los Angeles Dodgers last season. He has won the World Series with the San Francisco Giants, and has become famous with his long, thick beard becoming his trademark over the years.
According to CBS Sports, it looks like that beard means more to him than playing for the Yankees. Wilson reportedly declined any interest in joining the Yankees because of their rules prohibiting long hair, and facial hair for anyone who plays on the team.
This is also the same guy who turned down $1 million to shave for charity.
The Yankees are trying to replace (if that’s possible), Mariano Rivera, who retired this year, and are looking at a strong closer market to fill the void in 2014.
Other options for the team include Texas Rangers closer Joe Nathan and Oakland Athletics closer Grant Balfour.
