Mariano Rivera Honored One Last Time In Boston [Video]

Mariano Rivera

Mariano Rivera ended his career on a high note at Yankee Stadium last month with a wonderful ode to the legendary pitcher in which he helped bring five world championships to New York City.

He was honored one more time last night (with cheers) at his biggest rivals home as he was recognized by Major League Baseball commissioner Bug Selig with the Historic Achievement Award before the game between the Boston Red Sox and St. Louis Cardinals.

It’s a special award that is given out only by the commissioner to players who have given special contributions to baseball.

Other recipients of the award include; Sammy Sosa and Mark McGwire after their historic (and now infamous) home run chase, Tony Gwynn, Cal Ripken Jr., Roberto Clemente and Ichiro Suzuki.
