Boston Red Sox Player Caught Cheating? [Video]
Shorty after yesterday’s 8-1 win in the first game of the World Series against the Boston Red Sox and the St. Louis Cardinals a video surfaced showing Boston starting pitcher Jon Lester making an interesting motion on the mound.
The pitcher, which didn’t allow any runs in 7.2 innings, seemed to grab something in his glove with two fingers, before going for the pitch.
Having such a substance is against the rules, but some players are known to get away with it. It is possible that there could have been pine tar, or something that will help him grip the baseball better since it was a cool night.
Earlier today, Red Sox manager John Farrell spoke on the allegations saying,
“From my perspective, if you know Jon Lester, he sweats like a pig and he needs rosin,” he said. “You know what, he keeps it in his glove. Other guys will keep it on their arm. Other guys will keep it on their pant leg. So that’s my response to the allegations.”
Anyways, let us know what you think? Is he cheating?
