Could Carlos Beltran Join The New York Yankees?

Carlos Beltran

Right now Carlos Beltran is manning right field for the St. Louis Cardinals trying to help the team reach the World Series with clutch hits, and good play in the field. But does the former New York Mets player want to be a Yankee?

According to a report from Mark Feinsand of the New York Daily News, Beltran who is scheduled to become a free agent after this season, could try to find his way back to New York.

Beltran was trying to be a Yankee after the 2004 season, where he wanted to continue the legacy left by Bernie Williams at the time.

He will be 38 at the beginning of next season, but he is enjoying some success this season by hitting with a .296 batting average with 24 home runs.

The Yankees currently have Alfonso Soriano and Brett Gardner for another year joining Ichiro Suzuki and Vernon Wells. Curtis Granderson will become a free agent at the end of the season, but could return to the team.
