“I treasured playing for the Knicks and the great fans of New York,” King said.

“I fell in love with basketball the first time I made a basket,” King told the crowd.

“I don’t care who was on him,” Magic Johnson said. “It was on.”

“Bernard King is the only guy that ever scared the hell out of me,” Dominique Wilkins said. – nypost

onsidered one of the most iconic Knicks of the eighties generation, Bernard King tore up the NBA with his explosive high-scoring prowess in the post and quick release! Finally the moment has arrived… Bernard King was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame on Sunday afternoon in Springfield, MA! He once scored back-to-back 50 point games and even hit 60 points on Christmas day in 1984 with the Knicks! King, a Brooklyn native, actually came into the NBA (in 1977 No. 7 pick) with the New York Nets (Uniondale, NY); the Nets quickly moved to New Jersey to become the NJ Nets! He started his career with the NJ Nets and ended it there as well! If it wasn’t for a horrific knee injury in March 1985 (tore ACL), King would have easily retired in the top-ten in scoring! When he retired in 1993, King retired No. 16 on the all-time scoring list (19,655 points)! Check out Bernard King (of NY) HOF speech above and other takes below (including Gary Payton HOF speech)…
