Bradley Manning Sentenced To 35 years in Wikileaks Case [Photo]
Pte First Class Bradley Manning, 25, has been convicted of leaking government documents to anti-secrecy website Wikileaks and has been sentenced to 35 years in prison. Prosecutors were seeking to give Manning 60 years in prison in order to send a message to potential future leakers. While stationed in Iraq in 2010, the junior intelligence analyst passed hundreds of thousands of battlefield reports and diplomatic cables to Wikileaks in an attempt to spark a public debate about US foreign policy and the military. Pte Manning has been demoted to private and dishonorably discharged from the U.S. Army. He is expected to serve his sentence in Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.
