Egypt’s Cabinet Holds Crisis Meeting [Photo]
Egypt’s deputy prime minister Ziad Bahaa el-Din will propose a way out of the nation’s contentious conflict between the interim military lead government and the Muslim Brotherhood of ousted president Mohammed Morsi when the cabinet converges on Sunday. On Wednesday, Egyptian authorities declared a state of emergency and killed hundreds of pro-Morsi supporters in Cairo set up in protest camps. After days of fighting, the streets of Egypt’s capital city Cairo have been returning to normal with considerably less people walking the streets. Despite the prime minister’s call for an immediate end to the state of emergency, it remains unclear how much support the initiative will gain among Egypt’s new leaders of the deeply polarized republic.
