Zimbabwean President Tells Rivals to Accept His Re-Election [Photo]
Recently re-elected Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe had some choice words for naysayers during a public speech on Monday for those who opposed his victory saying, “Those who can’t stomach the defeat, you can commit suicide. Even dogs will not sniff their carcasses.” Mugabe’s opponent Morgan Tsvangirai, the head of the Opposition Movement for Democratic Change (MDC), has filed a court appeal against the election results citing electoral rigging for the reason of his 61% win. The appeals court has two weeks in which to decide the matter in the meantime of which Mugabe will not be sworn in. Independent local election observers have warned of problems concerning voter registration which threaten the credibility of election results.
