August Game Release Calendar

With August comes the return of actual game releases, and there are some pretty noteworthy titles on the horizon at that. An actual game is releasing for Nintendo’s often forgotten Wii-U. Pikmin 3 hits stores August 4th. RPG fans can look forward to Dragon’s Crown and Tales of Xilia at the beginning of the month as well but it’s the end of August that has some big names competing for your money. On the 20th Saint’s Row IV is out along with Splinter Cell: Blacklist which are both highly anticipated in their own rights but a wrench thrown into the mix is The Bureau: XCOM Declassified which is a sort of spin-off of the the classic turn based strategy game XCOM. XCOM got its own critically acclaimed reboot last year so this long awaited 3rd person action version has been on watch. If that wasn’t enough just a week later on the 27th we get a new entry in the Lost Planet franchise, a redone Final Fantasy XIV and last but not least Madden 25, the celebration of 25 years of football sim dominance. August might literally have something of note for every kind of gamer, and with that I declare the annual summer game drought officially ended.
