Daniel Murphy clutch single subway series 2013

Daniel Murphy delivered the clutch single in the bottom of the eighth inning to put the Mets ahead for good (2-1) over the NY Yankees last night at Citi-Field in Queens, NY.

“Dan’s hit, it meant something,” Terry Collins said. “I know it’s the Yankees and they’re used to playing in these games and they’re used to all this stuff. Well, for us it was a big win. The way we’ve been going, it’s huge for us.

“So a little emotion’s involved,” the manager added. “If they take offense to it, I don’t know what we’re going to do about it except play again (Tuesday).” – nydailynews
