Lebron James drives past Tony Allen to the bucket.

”We pride ourselves on defense here,” said James. ”I’m one of the catalysts, as far as taking that side of the ball very seriously. We all do. I’m happy to be rewarded with such an honor to be part of First Team All-Defense.

NBA: Chicago Bulls at New York Knicks

“To tell you the truth, Tyson (Chandler) is a terrific defender and help-side defender,” Pacers snubbed out Roy Hibbert said. “Last game I was just in the right spot at the right time for tip-ins. So I expect them to help and I expect him to have an awesome defensive game.” – nydailynews

‘Joakim, obviously (I’m) very pleased with that,” said Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau. ”I think down the road, Joakim has a very good chance of being defensive player of the year. His ability to defend all five positions, every aspect of the game – individual defense, team defense, rebounding, multiple effort … a very unique player.” – foxsports

Miami Heat Lebron James and Memphis Grizzlies Tony Allen headlined the 2013 NBA All-Defensive team! Lebron James tallied 52 points, while Allen tallied a slightly better 53 points with both receiving 25 first place votes! Lebron almost unanimously won the 2013 MVP award, and can now add another trophy to his case! The first team was rounded with OKC Serge Ibaka (46 points), Clippers’ CP3 (37), Knicks’ Tyson Chandler (24), and Bulls’ Joakim Noah (24)! Last season, Chandler won the DPOY Award, but strangely was voted to the second team?! Similarly, Grizzlies’ Marc Gasol won the DPOY Award this season, but only made the second team; he was joined by Grizzlies’ teammate Mike Conley, Spurs’ Tim Duncan, Celtics’ Avery Bradley, and Pacers’ Paul George on this year’s second team!
