Ichiro Suzuki (l.) and Lyle Overbay (r.) were the game changers for the Yankees on Friday night.

“I am enjoying it. Those three days, and I was going to be going home,” said Overbay, who entered in a 3-for-33 slump but delivered an RBI double in the fourth and a two-run double off southpaw Bruce Chen in the sixth. “I have been working with [hitting coach] Kevin Long. If you are not there, he will get you there. It’s a nice situation.’’ – nypost

ankees manager Joe Girardi got his 500th win following an outburst by Ichiro Suzuki and new recruit Lyle Overbay, as the NY Yankees beat the Kansas City Royals, 11-6 last night! Suzuki and Overbay each hit two-run HR’s in the second inning to start things, and Overbay just kept pounding the ball finishing off the night going 4-for-5 with five RBI’s! Suzuki went 3-for-5 with two RBI’s and  three runs scored! Way to go Joe Girardi who almost instantly went from a Yankee great to the manager (following the footsteps of Joe Torre)! Also, the Yankees have won three-in-a-row and improved to (21-13) on the season!
