“Any time I’m mentioned with the greatest players to play the game or people period, it is a wow factor because I grew up and studied those guys and watched those guys and a few of those guys were my inspiration growing up,’’ James said recently about the prospect of joining the above-named legends.

“I know where I’ve come from, a small city in Akron, Ohio, and what I’ve built over the years. And I would give a lot of credit like I always do to my teammates and coaches that I had before I got to the NBA and how that allows me to do things that I do on the floor.’’ – espn

ing James won his fourth MVP Award today, almost unanimously, collecting 120 of the 121 first place votes! Even though Melo won the scoring title and received the other lonely first place vote, Lebron posted up a career-high in field goal percentage (56%), averaging 26.8 points, 8.0 rebounds and 7.3 assists while leading the Miami Heat to an astonishing 66-16 record! Lebron became only the fifth player in NBA history to notch four MVP Awards; check out the other four: Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Michael Jordan, Bill Russell and Wilt Chamberlain. Lebron is only the second player (Bill Russell) to receive the four MVP Awards in a five-year span! A panel of broadcasters and sports writers vote for the esteemed award, that had Kevin Durant in front of Melo in the final vote tally (chart above)!
