“I don’t think there should be a suspension there,’’ Chandler said. “It wasn’t a case of immaturity. It was a heat of the moment thing, trying to create space. It looked bad. It looked worse than it was. Intentions weren’t what it seemed.’’

“I’m always in J.R.’s ear,” coach Mike Woodson said. “That one incident [Friday] night is not going to deter me on how I think about J.R. He’s had a helluva year. He’s done everything we’ve asked him to do.’’

“It doesn’t put no pressure on me,’’ Anthony said. “We’ve got guys who are going to have to step up if that’s the case.’’

“He knows that,” Chandler said of Smith’s importance to the team. “It’s a learning experience. We need him on the basketball floor. He’s one of our big-time scorers. He understands that.’’ – nypost

ecorated Sixth Man of the Year, KnicksTape J.R. Smith was suspended (for Game 4 Knicks-Celtics 1PM ABC today) due to a hard elbow on Celtics’ Jason Terry late in Game 3 on Friday night! With 7:06 remaining in regulation (of Game 3): J.R. Smith hit Terry with the hard elbow, received a Flagrant 2 Foul Call, and was instantly ejected! The Knicks could definitely use J.R. Smith, the pivotal high scoring swing-man, to complete the sweep in the Boston series today; leading (3-0) in the series! Check out the video below, and let me know what you think? I don’t think he deserved a one-game suspension, there was an obvious flop exaggeration by Terry following the elbow! Commissioner David Stern probably just wanted to move his toy figures around in his box.
