The game press is known for stating their opinions on all manner of things game related, as is their job. Though sometimes criticism can be misconstrued or taken poorly and then you get reactions. Jason Schreier an editor on gaming site “Kotaku” posted a small story in response to the reveal trailer of a Sorceress character in the game Dragon’s Crown, a PS3 and Vita title coming out later this year. “Game Developers Really Neeed To Stop Letting Teenage Boys Design Their Characters”

As you can tell from the title he carried a certain opinion regarding the creator’s choice of character design seen above. As a response George Kamitani, the lead artist who also happens to be the president of Vanillaware, the game’s developer, replied on his facebook page with this image and caption.

"It seems that Mr. Jason Schreier of Kotaku is pleased also with neither sorceress nor amazon. The art of the direction which he likes was prepared."

“It seems that Mr. Jason Schreier of Kotaku is pleased also with neither sorceress nor amazon. The art of the direction which he likes was prepared.”

Kamitani is a native Japanese speaker so excuse his grammar, but it can be discerned that he’s suggesting since Schreier had a problem with the Sorceress design, he might like his Dwarf design possibly insinuating his homosexuality. Schreier considers the possible implication himself in his response to the comment here.

Shots were fired both ways it seems, but the back and forth should probably stop before someone regrets their choice of words.
