Bruins, Red Sox Games Cancelled During Manhunt For Second Suspect!

“We are trying to put on a show for the fans and, hopefully, give them some sort of escape,” Buffalo’s Drew Stafford said after the game. “With everything that happened, emotions were extremely high tonight. I am sure that there were not a lot of dry eyes in the stands during the anthem.”

n light of today’s manhunt to find the second suspect, the NHL Boston Bruins cancelled their match (against the Pittsburgh Penguins) at the TD Garden, and the MLB Boston Red Sox cancelled their game (against Kansas City Royals) at Fenway Park tonight! The games will be postponed until a later date! Early in the morning in Watertown, MA, the first suspect, Tamerlan Tsarnaev, 26, was killed in a stand-off with police, the younger brother, Dzhokhar, 19, fled the scene in an SUV, parked it and disappeared! The Boston Marathon bombing rocked the sports world, causing the Bruins-Senators match to be cancelled and postponed (until April 28) on Monday, and the Pacers-Celtics season finale was cancelled on Tuesday night! Also on Tuesday night, the Yankees threw in a salute to the victims playing “Sweet Caroline.” On Wednesday night, the Bruins hosted the Buffalo Sabres and started off with an emotional tribute to the victims of the Boston Marathon bombing (quote above)!
