“This was a heinous and cowardly act,” Obama told the nation this morning, less than 24 hours since bombs ripped apart Boston streets. “The FBI is investigating it as an act of terrorism.”

“What we don’t yet know, however, is who carried out this attack or why,” the president said.

“Whether it was planned and executed by a terrorist organization — foreign or domestic — or was the act of malevolent individuals. That’s what we don’t yet know. Clearly we’re at the beginning of our investigation.”

“The American people refuse to be terrorized because what the world saw yesterday … were stories of heroism and kindness and generosity and love,” Obama said.

“Exhausted runners who kept running to the nearest hospital to give blood and those who stayed to tend to the wounded, some tearing off their own clothes to make tourniquets.” – nypost

P

resident Obama addressed the nation this morning (and gave a speech last night), and added that this is “an act of terrorism” and praised Americans who “refused to be terrorized.” He also said it was “a heinous and cowardly act.” The President and the nation are still uncertain whether it was an organization or an individual act of terrorism. The President commended the American spirit of helping the next man in the face of tragedy. Check out Obama’s breaking comments above and his Presidential speech from last night on video above!

Apparently, the terrorists carried 6-liter pressure cookers with nails, shards of metal, ball bearings in black duffel bags, and dropped them off at the scene! It is still unclear what was used to detonate the explosives?!
