fter Kobe called Pau Gasol, The LA Lakers went on to beat the savvy San Antonio Spurs, 91-86 last night to keep their Playoff hopes alive! The Lakers (44-37) won for the first time without Kobe, and moved 1 1/2 games ahead of the Utah Jazz (42-38) for the eight seed in the Western Conference! Kobe, who went out with a torn Achilles on Friday night, tweeted before the game that he was gonna call, and he did call Pau Gasol at halftime in the Staples Center locker room! The Lakers are in if the Jazz lose to the Minnesota Timberwolves on Monday, or if they beat the Houston Rockets on Wednesday; the Jazz hold the tiebreaker! Dwight Howard scored 26 points and grabbed 17 points, Pau Gasol snatched 16 boards, Steve Blake had 23 points, and Antawn Jamison added 15 points off the bench! Tim Duncan had a team-high 23 points and 10 boards for the Spurs! Check out highlights from the game on video below!
