Melo now holds the outright lead for the scoring title averaging 28.7 points per game over the three-time defending scoring title champion OKC Kevin Durant who is currently averaging 28.1 points per game! J.R. Smith will be the sixth man averaging 18 points per game (off the bench) this season! Melo finished with 31 points and 14 boards, J.R. Smith matched him with 31 points on a remarkable 13 for 16 shooting, Iman Shumpert turned loose ll boards, and Chris Copeland added 12 points! Jersey native Kyrie Irving led the Cavaliers with 31 points (six assists, five boards) of his own! The Knicks improved to (52-27) and still firmly grip the second spot (in the Eastern Conference) heading into the Playoffs! In fact, the Knicks are one win away from securing the two seed!
