“He’s still growing,” said 61-year-old former Masters champ Ben Crenshaw, who played with the phenom and shot an 80. “I can see him hitting the ball further, and he handled some of those short shorts really well.”

“Hopefully I can win the four majors in one year,” Guan said after 18 holes at Augusta.

When the eighth-grader was asked whether he would be hitting the books or studying the course, he replied, “Golf, just golf.” – foxsports

T

o the Golf World, the Masters is the holy grail! Only four Masters tournaments are played each year, and on Thursday a 14-year old competed in the event for the first time! Young 5-foot-8 140 lbs. TianLang Guan out of China made the cut on the first day (Thursday) of the Masters (in Augusta) after hitting one over Par (Par 72), finishing with a nice birdie on the 18th hole! Today (Friday), Guan wasn’t so lucky, and ended up dropping three shots to remain at four-over par! The top 50 golfers will advance to the next round, so he is close to being cut after today’s performance! If he makes the cut today, he would break another record, the youngest golfer to make the second cut of the Masters at Augusta! Guan qualified for the Masters by winning Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship! Check out Guan Tianlang practicing with Tiger Woods before the Masters event with interview on video below!
