n the first of the Final Four Hoops showdowns on Saturday night, Rick Pitino Louisville Cardinals overcame a late 12-point deficit to beat Wichita State Shockers and advance to the National Championship game! An upset was brewing in the Georgia Dome, as the No. 9 seed Shockers (30-9) took a 47-35 lead with 13 minutes left in regulation over No. 1 seed Louisville (34-5), but Louisville fought back and showed again why they are No. 1 and considered the most explosive team in the NCAA this season! The Cardinals were able to keep injured teammate Kevin Ware (Bronx native) in good spirits, as he sit by the scorers table with his leg protected! Brooklyn native Russ Smith led the Cardinals with 21 points (6-17 shooting), and Luke Hancock was sensational coming off the bench with 20 points! Middletown (NY) native Cleanthony Early (pic below) emerged for the Shockers with a game-high 24 points and 10 boards! Louisville Cardinals Rick Pitino will inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame on Monday just before the National Championship game! Check out photo’s above and below!

Kevin Ware sat by the scorers table and served as an inspiration to the Louisville Cardinals during the Final Four game last night. Ware broke his leg in half during the Elite 8 game a week ago.
