Rang Him Up: Pac-12 Controversy Erupts!

Arizona v UCLA - Pac-12 Semifinals

Arizona coach Sean Miller was livid after receiving a technical foul after a bad call. Referees were found out to be on the take on the disputed call.

“The reason I got the technical foul is because I said, ‘He touched the ball. He touched the ball. He touched the ball. He touched the ball. He touched the ball,'” Miller said.

“He’s a bully,” the referee said of Rush. “He just bullies everyone. That was his whole tenor of the meeting on Friday. We’re all afraid of him. He’s the most respected basketball officiating person on the West Coast and he’s been given all the juice.”

“He was emphatic about not dealing with [Miller],” the ref told CBSSports.com. “He made that perfectly clear.”cbssports

NCAA Basketball: Larry Scott Press Conference

“Based on the review, we have concluded that while Rush made inappropriate comments that he now regrets during internal meetings that referenced rewards, he made the comments in jest and the officials in the room realized they were not serious offers,” Scott wrote in his statement. “Following our review, we have discussed the matter with Rush, taken steps to ensure it does not happen again, and communicated our findings to all of our officials.” – cbssports

ac-12 refs are accused of being bribed “in jest” by former NBA referee Ed Rush to call a technical foul on Arizona coach Sean Miller during a crucial game! Rush offered the Pac-12 refs $5K or a trip to Cancun to “rang [Miller] up” (technical foul) or “ran him” (ejection), according to a report released by CBSSports earlier today. To top that off the next morning, the refs were told to dial up UCLA in the semifinals (quote above)! Miller was called on a technical foul late in a game that ultimately put his team, the Arizona Wildcats, out of the NCAA Tournament! Pac-12 commissioner Larry Scott posted a statement (above) to the website in response, and held that Rush’s comments were held “in jest.” Check out comments above and the video below to get the full picture!
