C.C. Clocks 90 MPH in Spring Debut!

C.C. Sabathia Spring Training

“I felt good,’’ said Sabathia, who allowed two runs in the first inning and none across the next four of a 7-3 victory while giving up eight hits, walking one and fanning two. “The changeup was good and the fastball command could have been a little better. I started using a back-door cutter.’’

“That’s about right for me in spring training,’’ said Sabathia, who worked simulated games instead of jumping into the fray earlier. “It might be a little harder for me, 88 to 90. If I can throw 90 [in a spring debut], that’s good.’’ – nypost

Puerto Rico ousts Team USA in World Baseball Classic

C.C. Sabathia clocked 90 MPH on the radar gun during his five-inning Spring Training debut against the Miami Marlins at George M. Steinbrenner Field in Tampa, FL on Friday! C.C. gave up two runs in the first inning and none in the next four, gave up eight hits, struck out two, and walked one! The Yankees held on to win 7-3! Its a good look for C.C. returning from left elbow surgery; removing a bone spur for better pitching range of motion!
