Brook Lopez Gets Brooklyn’s First All-Star Nod!

“It’s a huge honor and I can’t thank my team enough,” Lopez said. “Obviously I wouldn’t be in this situation if we weren’t successful. It’s a team game. So it’s all on them. They earned it for me.”

“It’s an honor, but it’s not my focus right now,” Lopez said. “We were very focused on the game tonight, and that was the main concern.” – nypost

Brook Lopez got the good news before the blow-out at the Barclays, as he was picked to replace injured Rajon Rondo in the 2013 NBA All-Star game! He is the first “Brooklyn” Net to be picked, and only the 13th in the Nets 37-year history! Although Brook still post moves like Catwoman, he deserves the nod leading the league (amongst centers) with 18.6 points per game! He also averages 7.3 rebounds and 2.2 blocks per game for the Nets, who are still tied (Pacers) for fourth place in the entire Eastern conference with a 27-19 record! The Nets have stabilized as a better than .500 squad (17-0), but still coming up short against over .500 teams (10-19)! To their credit, the Nets do have solid wins over the Celtics, the Knicks, OKC, and the Memphis Grizzlies!
