NFL No No: Welker’s Wife Throws Ray Lewis Under the Bus?!
The New England Patriots got handled by the underdog Baltimore Ravens, 28-13 on Sunday in the AFC Championship! Almost immediately following the game, Pats’ TE Wes Welker’s wife, Anna Burns Welker, tried to throw linebacker Ray Lewis under the bus?! She must have been strung out on something, and wrote on her facebook wall, that “everyone should check out Ray Lewis’s wikipedia” and “that he has six kids and four wives, and was acquitted for murder”! It appears that that serious sore loser mentality doesn’t just stretch across the Pat’s frontline (Brady, Belicheck), but to their families as well! Last year, Tom Brady’s famous girlfriend Giselle Bundchen kept her comments more internal, blaming the Patriots loss to the Giants in the Super Bowl on Brady’s receiving core! It makes you wonder what these ladies be thinking and what kind of conversation goes on between Brady, Welker and their wives?! Check out Mrs. Welker’s facebook post above, and her apology below!
“I’m deeply sorry for my recent post on Facebook,” Burns Welker told Larry Brown Sports in a statement. “I let the competitiveness of the game and the comments people were making about a team I dearly love get the best of me. My actions were emotional and irrational and I sincerely apologize to Ray Lewis and anyone affected by my comment after yesterday’s game.
“It is such an accomplishment for any team to make it to the NFL playoffs, and the momentary frustration I felt should not overshadow the accomplishments of both of these amazing teams.” – larrybrownsports
On a positive note, Mrs. Welker did offer a formal apology later!
