Preview: NFL Championship Sunday

Update: Niners’ Crabtree doubtful to be charged in sexual assault case

NFL Championship Sunday kicks off w/ four heavyweights ready to go at the gun! We start out with the San Francisco 49er’s against the Atlanta Falcons followed by the Baltimore Ravens vs. the New England Patriots! The NFC Niners-Falcons game kicks off at 3PM EST on FOX, and the AFC Ravens-Pat’s game will immediately follow at 6:30PM EST on CBS!

For the Niner’s, their greatest strength is their quarterback Colin Kaepernick who went 6-2 since replacing red-hot Alex Smith midway through the season! Kaepernick ran for an NFL record 181 yards last week on top of throwing for 263 yards against the Green Bay Packers no less! On top of that WR Michael Crabtree caught 119 yards on nine carries for two touchdowns! Falcons’ QB Matt Ryan aka Matty Ice actually won his first Playoff game last week, held on with a 30-28 win over the Seattle Seahawks! Matty Ice has been solid at home; winning 34 of 40 home games! The Niners must contain WR Roddy White, WR Julio Jones, TE Tony Gonzalez and RB Jacquizz Rodgers, while the Falcons gotta look out for Kaerpernick, Crabtree, WR Randy Moss, TE Vernon Davis, and solid-catching RB Frank Gore! The edge has to go to the Niner’s!

F0r the Ravens, their greatest strength is emotion. Soon to be retiring linebacker Ray Lewis puts fight and spirit in each and every teammate! Amazingly, Lewis led the team in tackles last week (in their heroic OT win over the Broncos), and puts it all on the line each and every game! Obviously, the Ravens will be looking for another big game by QB Joe Flacco who can throw the deep ball better than any one in the league! The Ravens have deep threat WR Anquan Boldin along with surging WR Jacoby Jones and WR Torry Smith! The Pat’s will need to contain RB Ray Rice who went off for 131 yards on 30 carries in the game last week! For the Pats, obviously their greatest strength is QB Tom Brady, who just became the winningest QB in Playoff history (17) last week with the dominating 41-28 thrashing of the Houston Texans for the AFC Divisional Playoffs! Tight ends Wes Welker and Aaron Hernandez are the biggest threats, and WR Brandon Lloyd will make some big catches! Young Pats RB Shane Vereen is the one to watch; he caught two touchdowns and ran one in last week! The edge goes to the Pat’s, but hope goes to the Ravens!

Who will go to the Super Bowl? I got the (coach) Harbaugh vs. Harbaugh or the San Francisco 49er’s vs. the Baltimore Ravens!
