Skins Eat Up Dem Boys to Go to Playoffs!
”R-G-3!” was all Redskins fans needed to chant when they wanted to express their love for Robert Griffin III. For the lesser-known rookie, they opted for his whole name: ”Alf-red Mor-ris!”
”I was 9 years old in 1999,” said Griffin, sporting a black baseball cap commemorating the title. ”So I stand before you at 22, and the Redskins are the NFC East champions. To me, talking to Alfred after the game, it’s the first time the Redskins have been champs since `99 and we came in and we did it in one year. The sky’s the limit for this team.”
”I’ll tell you what: Alfred Morris became a star tonight,” Redskins tight end Chris Cooley said. ”He deserved it. He’s a phenomenal football player.”
The Washington Redskins w/ rookie phenom QB Robert Griffin III AKA RG3 ate up the Dallas Cowboys, 28-18 Sunday night, won out the NFC East division and advanced to the NFL Playoffs! The Skins started out (rough) with a 3-6 record, but won seven straight to make the Playoffs! RG3 rushed for over 60 yards and a touchdown, but rookie RB Alfred Morris emerged as a star on Sunday night! Morris ran for 200 yards on 33 carries, and scored three touchdowns for the Skins! Also, Morris set the Skins single season rushing record with 1613 yards rushing as a rookie no less!
Rookie QB Russell Wilson (pic above) led the Seattle Seahawks (11-5) to the Playoffs with a 20-13 win over the St. Louis Rams on Sunday! He tied star QB Peyton Manning rookie record for touchdowns thrown with 26 touchdowns thrown and threw the game-winning touchdown with under two minutes to go!
