Yankees re-sign Ichiro!

“The Yankees are the kind of team that I always envisioned being a part of,” Suzuki said in a statement. “Everyone in the world of competition has a strong desire to win, but the Yankees also have an atmosphere where losing is not an option. These two observations may sound similar, but I believe it is a rarity to find both coexisting in the same organization.

“I believe the Yankees organization appreciates that there is a difference between a 39-year-old who has played relying only on talent, and a 39-year-old who has prepared, practiced, and thought thoroughly through many experiences for their craft. I am very thankful, and I will do my best to deliver on their expectations.” – nypost

The NY Yankees re-signed Ichiro Suzuki to a two-year deal worth $13 Million on Wednesday! He will officially replace Nick Swisher in right field! The Yankees now have a completely left-handed hitting outfield with Ichiro, Brett Gardner and Curtis Granderson on deck! Ichiro hit .322 in 67 games with the Yankees!

Raul Ibanez hugs Alex Rodriguez after scorching a homerun.

The move put Raul Ibanez, 40, in limbo; other teams including: the Seattle Mariners, the Texas Rangers, and the Philadelphia Phillies are showing interest in the powerful left-handed hitter! Ibanez swatted 19 homeruns in the regular season, and three more in the post-season last year! Unfortunately, the Yankees may not be able to bid high enuff to get Ibanez!
