Knicks ‘Make a Statement’, Bury Nets at the Garden! [Video]

Tyson Chandler gives Carmelo Anthony a pound after he makes a basket.

“We wanted to make a statement,” said center Tyson Chandler.

And that statement was? “That we’re New York’s team,’’ Raymond Felton said.

“They are right across the bridge,’’ said Anthony, born and bred in Red Hook. “Brooklyn and the Knicks will always be there. It will always be a rivalry from here on out.’’

The NY Knicks w/ Melo, Chandler, J.R. Smith and the crew showed who is the King of NY! The Knicks “made a statement” and buried the Brooklyn Nets, 100-86 at MSG in their third contest last night! Melo (in his return) turnt in 31 points, Tyson Chandler was throwing down the mean dunks, alley-oops (video below) and finished with 16 points and 12 boards, and J.R. Smith finished with 19 points off the bench! Right now, Melo is a top contender for MVP, while J.R. Smith is going for the coveted Sixth-Man (of the Year) award! You could hear chants for Melo: M-V-P, M-V-P, M-V-P ringing through the Garden in the second half! For the Nets, D-Will got 16 points and 10 dimes, Joe Johnson 17 points, and Brook Lopez 16 points and 10 boards! On Celebrity Row, Giants’ Victor Cruz, Rev Run, Spike Lee, and Patrick Ewing were in the building! Check out highlights from the game, and Chandler’s mean dunks on video below!
