Mets Trade R.A. Dickey to Toronto!

The Mets received stud catching prospect Travis d’Arnaud, pitching prospect Noah Syndergaard, catcher John Buck and 18-year-old outfielder Wuilmer Becerra. In return, the Blue Jays received catchers Josh Thole and Mike Nickeas — in addition to Dickey.

“This was a complicated deal, but certainly we’re happy with the value,” Mets GM Sandy Alderson said. – nypost

After weeks of back-and-forth contract negotiations, reigning Cy Young pitcher R.A. Dickey was traded to the Toronto Blue Jays yesterday! He agreed to a two-year contract extension (worth $25 Million) with the Blue Jays, that involved a seven player trade! The Mets were looking to save money, and gain a lot of young top talent out of the deal! Dickey became only the fourth reigning Cy Young pitcher to be traded: Roger Clemens, David Cone, and Pedro Martinez! Check out the seven players involved in the trade above!
