Instagram Using Your Pictures for Advertisement without Owing You a Dime?

How many times are we shown the “Terms of Use” and quickly think “this is too much to read”. Well maybe you should take the time out and read some of it so you can be aware of whats going on. The new buzz in the streets is the new terms of Instagram. One of the notable terms is they are able to use your profile on Instagram to draw in advertiser. Take a look:

“Some or all of the Service may be supported by advertising revenue. To help us deliver interesting paid or sponsored content or promotions, you agree that a business or other entity may pay us to display your username, likeness, photos (along with any associated metadata), and/or actions you take, in connection with paid or sponsored content or promotions, without any compensation to you. If you are under the age of eighteen (18), or under any other applicable age of majority, you represent that at least one of your parents or legal guardians has also agreed to this provision (and the use of your name, likeness, username, and/or photos (along with any associated metadata)) on your behalf.”

So as Instagram starts to go down this corporate road, they already started cleaning up the application. Pictures that violates their terms have already resulted in people losing their Instagrams. Right now either they going to delete some of your earlier post or remove your profile period. Word to wise, start saving your favorite pictures to something besides Instagram because one day you may go and they may not be there anymore.
