Yankees pick up Kevin Youkilis!

The NY Yankees verbally agreed to a one-year deal worth $12 Million with former Boston Red Sox third baseman Kevin Youkilis! Youkilis just has to pass a physical today, and he will be the newest NY Yankee! The Yankees are depleted at third base because A-Rod will be out for several months with extensive knee surgery. Youkilis, 34, put up solid numbers last year: .235 batting average with 19 homers and 60 RBIs in 111 games, but spent most of the season with the Chicago White Sox! Youkilis had it out with then-Boston manager Bobby Valentine early last season, and was traded to Chi-Sox! The Yankees imported a lot of players from the Red Sox over the years; starting with the “Curse of the Bambino” back in 1919. Strangely enuff, the Yankees have signed seven members of the Red Sox 2004 Championship team over the past few years!
