King James named SI Sportsman of the Year! [Photo]

“I remember just like yesterday when I signed here and basically, like the roof caved in,” James told The Associated Press, referring to the fallout from his infamous “Decision” to leave Cleveland for Miami in 2010. “To see that I and my team and everyone around me was able to patch that roof up, to come to this point, to come to this point and receive such a prestigious award, it’s huge.” – foxsports

Lebron James became the first NBA player, since teammate Dwyane Wade in 2006, to win the prestigious Sports Illustrated’s Sportsman of the Year award this morning! He is on the cover the magazine (pic above), that was released retail today! Lebron was surprised with the award, not because of his phenomenal 2012 season (second Olympic Gold, first chip, first Finals MVP, third MVP award), but because of his unpopular 2010 “Decision” to move to South Beach! Check out the SI full story right here, and Lebron’s first SI cover and other top NBA stories below!
