Pettitte to Sign One-Year $11 Million Deal!

David Wright gets five-year $100 Million offer from the Mets

Five-time World Series Champion pitcher Andy Pettitte is going to sign a one-year deal worth $11 Million with the NY Yankees! Last January, Pettitte, 40, turned down $10 Million, and ended up unretiring in March for $2.5 Million! After breaking his foot last spring, Pettitte sprung back with a respectable 5-4 record and 2.87 ERA. Pettitte, 40, is also the winningiest (19 wins) post-season pitcher of all-time, and holds a career regular season record of 245-142. It appears that reliable reliever Mariano Rivera AKA Mo should be signed by Monday as well!

Marvin Miller passed away at 95 years old this morning. He was considered the ‘Godfather of baseball free agency‘. He started as the MLB Players Association chief from its inception in 1966 to 1983, and helped change the “reserve clause”, which kept players tied to their original teams.
