Guerrero-Berto Fight Goes the Distance! [Video]

“I did tell Andre I was going to beat him down, so I had to be a man of my word,” Guerrero said. “But he did defend himself like a true champ. … I had to get on the inside with him, work his body and fight him on the inside.”

“I just didn’t understand,” Berto said. “He was coming in, grabbing and holding me. Every time I tried to get off, the referee kept warning me for shots. … At the end of the day, Robert fought a good fight and he got the win. If you want to do it again, we’ll definitely do that.” – espn

Guerrero plans to fight Mayweather (both under Golden Boy Promotions) soon in the future.

“Pretty Boy, let’s do it,” Guerrero said. – espn

Robert Guerrero delivered a 12-round blood bout, unanimous decision victory over Andre Berto, former 147 lb welterweight champion, on Saturday night! Guerrero knocked Berto down in both the first and second round, but Berto struck back in a back-and-forth battle to the finish! Guerrero threw a lot more punches, but landed a lower percentage! Berto felt that Guerrero kept holding him (read quote above)! All three judges scored the bout 116-110 in favor of Guerrero. Guerrero improved his record (31-1-1, 18 KOs), while Berto dropped to (28-2). Berto left with both eyes swollen and closed, while Guerrero left with his left eye shut. Guerrero plans on fighting Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather Jr. (pic above) next; they are both part of Golden Boy Promotions!
