Yankees Re-sign Kuroda for $15 Million!

“I am very happy and excited to re-sign with the Yankees,” Kuroda said in a statement. “I am very grateful for all of the interest and all of the offers that I received from the various teams that courted me. It was a tough decision for me to make, but at the end of the day, I wanted to try to win a championship with the teammates that I went to battle with last season.”

“We had a strong preference of retaining him, and I suspect it was a very aggressive market for him,’’ Yankees GM Brian Cashman said. “We feel fortunate we were able to acquire him last year, and I feel the same way this year. He is a pro.’’ – nypost

The NY Yankees re-signed pitcher Hiroki Kuroda to a one-year deal worth $15 Million with $500K in incentives on Tuesday! Kuroda, 38, broke out last year with the Yankees and his first year pitching in the big bat swinging American League; he went 16-11 with a 3.32 ERA in 33 starts! The deal worked out well for both sides, the Yankees only want to give free agents one-year deals, and Kuroda still wants to pitch in Japan (again) before he is too old.
