Classic Performance: The Beastie Boys rock the Hiro Ballroom NYC 2006 [Video]

I taped this on October 4, 2006 at approximately 11:33PM from the 2nd floor of the Hiro Ballroom in NYC. This was one of the most intimate Beastie Boy Shows I ever had the pleasure of seeing. The show was called “Gimme Shelter” and it was a show put on by the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and Rational Animal (www.rational-animal.org).

Since Adam Yauch’s passing on Friday, 5/4, I’ve been really bummed out. I know I’m not alone. Adam touched so many of our lives, and his mission was always to help others. He was unselfish and genuinely a great person. It’s sad that cancer took him away from us much too early.
I did have the pleasure of meeting and speaking to him and he was the most down to earth guy. I will miss him to say the least.
I was watching this video today and about half way through thought that I needed to put this out there on Youtube for others to enjoy. It was a great concert, and an amazing night in NYC.

The Beastie Boys touched so many lives and I’m thankful I recorded this so that it can be shared with all.
Let Adam’s life teach you to live life to it’s fullest.
May he rest in peace. – SLacroix74
