Even though Robinson Cano and Curtis Granderson struggled in the Playoffs, the Yankees decided to pick up their $15 Million option on Monday! Cano picked up late in the season and raised his batting average to .313, but hit a skid and went 3-for-40 in the Playoffs! Granderson almost led the league in HR’s (43) during the regular season, but couldn’t see the ball and struck out a league leading 195 times! Granderson also struggled in the post-season, and went 3-for-30 in the Playoffs! The Yankees also picked up the option on pitcher David Aardsma who is recovering from Tommy John surgery. The Yankees have $189 Million to spend (load up) before 2014 (to keep under the salary cap), so keep your eyes out for future trades, re-signings, and free-agent signings!
