Breaking News: NBA Commissioner Stern announces retirement!

Commissioner David Stern announces his retirement after 30 years of service.

In Breaking News, NBA Commissioner David Stern announced his retirement this afternoon! He will pass the flag to Adam Schechter Silver (pic below) on February 1, 2014! During his reign, Stern created seven franchises (six relocated cities) and the WNBA/NBA Developmental League’s! Also, eight different teams won an NBA Championship! He slowly became unpopular with some bold right wing moves toward the end of his tenure; including stonewalling the union during the recent 2011-2012 NBA Lock-out! To his credit, NBA Cares charity collected over $180 Million dollars in donations and the NBA annual revenue gross increased by 24%Stern also served the longest term ever (30 years) as an NBA Commissioner! The NBA is going to be looking to ‘go global’ with the induction of the new commissioner in 2014!
