Hello Brooklyn: NY Islanders to move to Barclays!
Hello Brooklyn! The Barclays Center on the corner of Atlantic & Flatbush Avenues in Brooklyn will soon be the home of the NY Islanders! The (L.I.) Islanders signed a 25-year deal to move to the brand new home of the Brooklyn Nets in the year 2015!
Islanders History: The NY Islanders broke into the NHL in the 1972-73 season! They almost instantly gained attention for becoming the eighth of only nine dynasties to win four consecutive Stanley Cups (1980-83)! After that their stock drastically dropped; they only made it to the Playoffs once (1992-93), and won their last division title in the 1987-88 season. The Islanders are hoping the move from Nassau Colliseum in Long Island (Uniondale) to Prospect Heights in Brooklyn will bring some motivation and necessary change.
