Style.com Names Sade A Beauty Icon
British singer, songwriter, composer and record producer Helen Folasade Adu, better known as Sade has recently been named a Beauty Icon by Style.com. Born in Nigeria Fifty-three years ago to a Nigerian father and English mother, the soulful singer also had a passion for fashion.
After living in Hollond-on-Sea from age 11, she moved to London and began studying at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design. While in school she modeled, started her own menswear line and also joined the band Pride, which she sang back up vocals.
Currently being the most successful solo female artist in British history, having sold over 110 million albums all over the globe, her trademark on music and fashion . Red lips, sleek long braided ponytail, and over-sized gold hoops have been replicated by designers including Jean Paul Gaultier and Olivier Rousteing at Balmain this season, as well as singer Miguel’s Deer Dana t-shirt created a in her honor.
